hi i think that most people over the next year will be using vista, but which one32 or 64? i think it would be usefull if people who are actually using 32 bit and 64 bit vista os would post there experiences so it will help other people make there minds up about which to choose.

I've used both and if you are going to buy Vista, DO NOT get the 32 bit version. The reason being that the 32-bit version can only support up to 4GB of RAM, while 64 bit versions can support up to 128GB. Also in the future programs and games will be made for 64 bit OS's and processors, and you wouldnt be able to take advantage of it.

Some people may say that the 64 bit has issues with drivers. What i've found is that any company that has Vista drivers, has one for both 32 and 64 bit. And I have yet to have a program not work on my 64 bit edition.

I would say no, I dont notice a difference. People dont really seem to know the advantages of having a 64-Bit OS are. You are not going to notice a difference when doing things like listening to music, or looking at photos. The real advantage comes in when you are using really processor/memory intensive apps.

But you should still get the 64-Bit version because it supports having over 4GB of RAM, and future apps will be more widely supported.

do the core2 duo 6700 cpu support 64 bit?

Yes. Off the top of my head heres a list of Intel CPU's that are 64-bit. However the only the newer Celeron D's and P4's are 64-bit.

Celeron D's
Pentium 4's
Pentium D's
Core Solo
Core Duo
Core 2 Duo
Core 2 Quad
