Vista Advisor installs fine but doesnt work.

Just wanted to see if my pc could actually run vista, i checked in device manager my processor details give me somthing like ACPI//***X86...Family etc. So i guess its a x86 processor (32bit am i right?) So the advisor should work, it loads up fine then i click "start scan" and well, nothing happens, nothing at all! So it wont scan, i will keep trying but can anyone help me out e.g. how to double check iam running x86 processor etc. Thankyou.

OK i tested the advisor on my laptop and it runs fine, the start scan button illuminates when u put the cursor on it, but on my desktop it doesnt illuminate and hence cant run a scan. Help anyone?
