I just read this article in PC Magazine, and it talks about Vista and Gamers.
They said that the reason why the xbox can play games so well is because it has a direct path to the hardware, unlike windows that has to go through the Graphics Device Interface (GDI). But with Vista, its going to have a direct path just like the xbox does, and its going to be backwards compatible with the GDI.
They say that because of this, games will perform 30-40% better.
