Vista and installing programs

Help! I am trying to install a photo program and vista won't let me. It's my computer but it says I don't have the right to install the program. What am I supposed to do?

I have a Dell xps410 with vista home premium on it. Thanks for any help you can give me. :)
 
You need to make sure your installing the software as an administrator. When you try to install it that annoying UAC thing will pop up and it should say install as administrator... if not i think you can right click the setup file and choose run as administrator.
 
UAC is that annoying thing that is like ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS before you do anything.... if you want to disable it go to the control panel and then go to user accounts, there is a option in there to turn it off... i dont have vista in front of me but i know its kind of obvious once your in there.... o and it stands for user access control.

its only good if you don't know what your doing and it keeps you from accidentally installing or changing stuff on accident
