Well actually, it should be virtually unlimited.


64 bit OS's in calculations can use up to 1TB+ RAM.

premium 16gb
business / ultimate 128gb

thats not due to tech, thats due to MS wanting money. Server products support more, and advanced server / datacentre editions support even more

32 bit apps wont use the extra space to its full effectiveness though.

I think you can make 32 bit versions of windows xp and 2003 support ~8gb instead of ~4gb using /3gb and /PAE boot.ini options
