Vista boot times? Really taking it's time.

It usually takes seconds for my pc to boot, but for some reason, I turned it on yesterday and it booted about 4 times slower than usual. When the OS loads the bar usually crosses the screen about 5 times, max 6. Now, it has jumped up to 20. That’s one hell of a jump. I know it would slow down after time, but there is no way it should suddenly slow by that much. Any idea what may have caused this?

I have checked for Spyware, etc. Defrag once every 2 weeks. Done the usual checks and it's still the same.

um that is werid currently only using XP SP2 but never had a problem have you deactivated all the mircosoft shit the put into your computer?????

I just installed vista on my machine fresh about 3 weeks ago and immediately noticed how slow it was. I think one of the patches I ran slowed it down because it seemed to run faster at first.
