vista capable cards

no not that i mean cant it run vista i mean is it vista ready , with all the drivers ????????????????????? like on my ATI card it said Vista Ready on the box

but im not to sure about thise drivers

i heard some ppl had glitches still while using vista ??????

well i would think that the 8600GT is vista ready since its soo new , but are there AGP videocards out there on sale that are VISTA "READY" instead of having to download the drivers from a site for VISTA ?

The whole "Vista Ready" deal is just a marketing thing. You shouldnt even use the drivers that come on the CD, you should get the latest ones from the manufacturer's website.

u sure, bc when i got my last card on the box it said VISTA READY and i didnt have to donwload any drivers for it, it just work right out of the box, so im looking for an AGP like that

The drivers on the CD are the same drivers that ATI and Nvidia has when the card was boxed with added manufacturers software added sometimes, so by the time you buy the card, Nvidia or ATI has probably undated the drivers by then.

so i guess my GeForce FX 5200 would work with vista then ????? bc i heard some of the drivers dont work that well with vista?????????

I own one of these cards.
The FX 5200 will work with Vista, yes. WITHOUT the Aero glass interface. It will look like XP; you won't get the 3D effects. For that you'll need a much better card.
Vista Capability
This card is capable of running Windows Vista, without any of the new major features, and is suitable for Vista Home Basic.

thanks ovenmaster

Mine is 256MB, jutnm, from PNY. Doesn't matter, though, because it still an FX 5200. The limiting factor here is the chipset, not the amount of on-card RAM.

Because it has Vista drivers included on the CD. You can download Vista drivers for much older cards for both nVidia and ATI.
