well i would think that the 8600GT is vista ready since its soo new , but are there AGP videocards out there on sale that are VISTA "READY" instead of having to download the drivers from a site for VISTA ?
All Vista ready means is it can run the operating system with the goodie turned on. Drivers don't come with hardware. That's why they bundle a driver with the video card you purchase. No hardware is "ready" for anything, be it an OS or a game. You have to download the software to tell the hardware what to do. I think you're misconception of "ready" is that it'll run iot straight out the box, which is true, except you download a driver.
Well i guess you could just use the straight VGA connection, and run at like 800x600 and have a crap frame rate and what not, but then ou'd be wasting money only because you don't want to download a driver. Whatever suits your fancy though.
But packages with video cards give you drivers, assuming it isn't an open box product.
