Vista CPU Usage

My XP crashed for first time with no BSOD. So I started using Vista till I can find my XP disc. I've noticed that CPU core 1 is typically around 80% all the time. Core 2 easily sits around at 1 or 2%. Is this just part of the hell that comes with Vista? or is there something I'm not aware of?

Okay I kind of solved my own problem by googling "system idle process" and I feel kind of dumb. But I ran into nother problem while all this was happening. I finally decided to set screensaver today and I was previewing all of them and decided on bubbles. Afterwards My CPU usage shot up to 100 % on both cores. I opened task manager and "ribbons.scr" was still running. Anyway to keep this from happening every time I change screensaver?
