Vista freezes!!!!

I've had it happen to me like 7 times in the last two days. I have to restart using the power button. Any ideas on where I get this OS to work like it should?

What type of freeze? It'll be easier for us to figure out what's going on if you provide more details.

just stops responding. only way to restart is with the power button.

if this is an original OEM install form the manufacture or not. may be time to reformat.

or clean up the computer of junk files and scan for viruses/spyware

Also run a RAM test. I've had faulty RAM before that caused the computer to randomly lock up. And when you say say 'freeze' are we talking total system lock up, or do you just get 'program not responding' errors with the little blue spinning circle?
