Vista Gadget

Hey, as im looking at the ram/cpu gadget the ram part seems to be running on an average of 44%. Is that good? Sometimes its lower around 42 sometimes its as high as 45, ive seen it at 52 once, but its settled down now. 44 seems to be the mean.

I have an onboard graphics card, could that be part of the reason the ram is reading high? My CPU reads low like 5% or less most of the time, i have a dual core.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with your percentages. after startup, my computer is using about 30% of my RAM (laptop with Vista). if you have 2 gigs of RAM, then it means u are using that percentage of the 2 gigs. the more programs u have running, the more you will use. im sure if u open every program possible on your computer, u could get it close to 100%.

ya that dude saying hes using only 1% of RAM doesnt know what hes talking about.
edit, hes prolly saying that the gadget program uses 1% of his RAM.

u can also look at RAM usage if u hit Control, Alt, Delete. then hit the resources tab at the bottom of the Task Manager screen.

Yeah, im running 2 gigs of ram on my computer. When i clean off and restart my comp it reads lower also. It actually reads better now that i installed norton internet security 2007 than it did when i had mcafee or the others i tried. Really the only things i run constantly are AIM, the software for my lexmark runs, internet explorer and whatever system programs are needed to run.

ya, u have nothing to worry about there. u should be good for quite a while with 2 gigs or RAM.

My Vista uses a range of 39% - 55% of my 2GB of RAM (I do a lot of stuff). You are fine. CPU usage varies all the time, for example, will spike whenever you open a program, etc. It is rarely constant.

Yup, like right now my RAM usage is 30% after restarting, running AIM, IE7 and my lexmark and norton are running in the background along with the system programs. My CPU is 1%. Should go up today as i use it more though.
