Vista - hard disk turning on and off

I dual boot XP and Vista. When I am in Vista, one of my harddrives keeps during on and then off. After a few minutes, I hear it power off and then a few seconds later it will power on again. Then it might go 5 or 10 minutes on and all of a sudden it will power off and a few seconds later back on.

Sometimes it will go about 30 to 60 minutes fine and then it will do it again.

Any ideas?

One thing there sounds like the power management isn't working correctly and you are seeing the drive going into hibernation. Are you set for hibernation in the power profile? With XP you can easily set everything to the never setting where everything remains active while Vista has the new power scheme you select there. Try a different power scheme to see if that will see improvement.
