Vista Hates XP

So Vista abuses XP and it takes it's ball and goes home :P

I am setting up a 24/7 junker single core rig with XP loaded to download/upload and PC to TV for my new "entertainment" rig and to give my gaming rig a rest instead of being 24/7.

It works currently but I have to use a flash drive to get files over there which gets old fast.

I want to connect via router and XP to XP this works fine but when I enable sharing on both I am unable to get them playing nicely. I can't even see them.

Also I want my Vista rig to be set up so I can drag/drop files to the XP system but no other PC including XP can access my Vista machine should they have any know-how.

Any help would be appreciated.

If this can't be done....how much would it cost for a 10-15 foot USB to USB cable with a bridge?

hummmm.... I know the problem you are having..... Id there a password set on the vista computer? I know when i did not have a password for my account on my vista pc my XP laptop never connected... As soon as I added a password on my account I was able to access it with no problem. Just a tip, post back on if it solves it or not.

Do the XP machines have Networking installed on them. I know Home Edition you needed to install it separately.

Machines?

XP is SP3 and Vista is SP2....when I use to run 2 XP machines it worked perfectly with SP2 so I think it has everything needed.
