I attempted to validate my vista ultimate licence and eceived the following error:
error 0XC004F063
The Software Licensing Service reported that the computer BIOS is missing a required license.

What does this actually mean and how do i solve the problem.
Thx

Just call Microsoft and they should help you activate windows or they will give you a new key.

Did you by any chance replace the motherboard?

you might have a pirated version of Vista. The best thing you can do is to do some research on google on how to go about the activation. else call up microsoft and explain your problem.

No joy as Yet

I dont have Daemon on my comp - thx anyway. Is there a specific number to call microsoft on. Im in Australia and hopefully the call wont cost a fortune as i blew everything on buying blasted vista?

try the toll free number. it should show you the number when you try to activate over the net and fails

It was a neo4 platinum build done after my comp got spiked early last year. So i suppose it would be classed as a custom. Also no phone number appears when the error comes up just the error number and message

I'm having trouble with vista too. but with updates... it appears my wuauclt.exe (aka automatic windows updates) has become corrupted.

I don't know what this means. Can you elaborate please?

Sounds like he is using a RTM OEM copy for like Dell and so on. There has to be a OEM code in the bios for it to install.

The computer was built for me. Also the vista key code thats on the activate has OEM in it and is a different format to my key that reads as so:

*****-*****-*****-*****-*****
which is unlike the format of the sited key which reads as

*****-OEM-*******-*****
