Vista Internet Problem

Hello computer Forumers:

I recently bought a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit for really cheap. It was from my stuff. I guess they made for student. But they are the same as the regular CD but they are upgrades only. So i formatted and installed xp then i boot from DVD and install vista to wipe out xp and have only vista. When I was done, I installed all the drivers for everything and done with all updates. I also bought a copy of BitDefender Internet Security 2008. After I install BD the internet wouldn't connect instantly. Once windows boot up sometimes my internet connect right away and sometimes it take awhile or not connect at all. This only happens when I install BD.

I want to know is it because BD is not supported for vista or do I need to upgrade my bios. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thank you very much in advance.

That has nothing to do with the bios at all since you see this only with BitDefender installed. It sound like a configuration problem with the software itself. The first thing to do would be to visit the product's faq section found at their support site.

Generally a software not supported by Vista won't even see the installer run. I found that to be case quite often even with some more recent games like Metal of Honor: Allied Assault. Softwares seeing bad installs are the usual cause for headaches like that one. You can try removing it totally for a clean to see if that helps.

Just make sure the WIndows firewall and User Account Control features are disabled in the control panel. Those are typical items that will hamper software installations at times.
