Vista is a Failure

Omega what do u mean by GDI and wont the use of 400 ram slow your computer down during game play?
i would think it would.... mebbe when u play games alot of processes in the backround shut down or something, idk...
explorer might loosen up on resources...

n e way, Vista is supposed to arrive with the Intel Kentsfield quad-core processors... so i'll prolly get it on my PC whenii build... but im prolly gona test them out see how i like them...

of course i cant run vista on the pc i hav now

I have no particular reason to stick with windows, i'm not a gamer, so that doesn't affect me, theonly software i would miss on linux is Macromedia Dreamweaver, flash and fireworks, so hopefully when I have less work to do at school I will give osx86 a try, it has everytyihng I want, so long all my internal stuff works properly with it

the vista beta just seemed so crap when I used it, absolutely nothing i tried would work, btu then again ti was the beta

GDI stands for Graphical Device Interface (something like that).

Basically, the reason why the XBox performs so well at Halo 2, even though it has such low end parts is because it doesnt have a GDI, and it allows the hardware to talk to each other directly. So a Vista PC with Vista games will have the performance increase similar that of an xbox.

its unusual that bill gates has given windows away for free, he should get a certificate, soz i feel so angry towards mr gates and his stupid lifestyle.

What du u think hell have in stock for us next windows version is the question????

Will it make a cappichino every time it starts up????

will it give you the money to activate windows????

bet its a vista copy but with added features

hmmm i am very much in love with XP i think that vista might be better but in a few years, besides i dont think my computer could handle it very well.

Crysis is being released when its finished regardless of wether Vista is out or not, you just have to run it DX9 till Vista comes out.

its funny, all of the things the guy said he didn't like in the new features, are the things im looking forward to! lol

I'm thinking of selling my PC to get an iMac G5, I'm not really sure about the dual-core intel...
how dare you. That's insulting. :D

I think you should keep ur current PC and install Linux. If all else fails and you get a Mac, install Linux anyway. After all, with Macs, just imagine all the software you can't run!

I had seen one of those mass-emails and it was about what would happen if computers were running cars. It had said that is cars haad run off Macs, theeey would only run on 5% of the roads :D

PLZ - MOD - move this thread elsewhere ;)

Well I will wait and see for myself. I would still have Vista over Linux or MacOSX anyday ;) If it has improvements over XP, then the choice is quite clear to me. Not delivering what has been perceived to be promised is nothing major in the business world anyway :P

JAN :D

i agree with you jan, but it will be some time until it is up and working properly
