Vista keeps reading on HDD

I've both Vista & XP installed on a new computer and Vista seems to be reading don't know what off the HDD almost all the time or at least way more often than XP.
Did anybody notice something like that?
 
ya, i created a thread about it a few days ago

i have several hard drives, with the operating system only on one, of course, and it would constantly read things off all of the discs.

I gave it a week or so, hoping it would finally "finish" whatever the heck it was doing, but it just seemed to be constantly reading files, regardless of time.

Dont really know what its doing. If anyone figures out how to turn this off, i might considering switching back to vista one day, but it really bogs the system down.

Its not making a cache of file information or thumbnails either, every time you open a folder in explorer, or media center, it takes forever for the thumbnails and file information to load.

Its a very busy operating system.
