Vista: My main fan is running to fast

Hi. I took away the contact to my main fan in the computer (The fan that is automatic controlled by speed) Now is the thing that the fan goes on to high speed and never slows down. Before it has gone on various speed's. I may have placed the contact in wrong motherboard Powersuply? I have 2 ones. I have also tried the program Speedfan but i can't change any of the fans speed.

I should be very thanful for any help!

Which header did you move it to? Some of them such as CPU are BIOS/Software controlled while others simply provide 12v.
