vista. need help

ok so iam doing a clean installation on my brand new custom computer with windows vista ultimate 64-bit. but the problem is, is that when it installs my computer will shut down randomly but this only occurs when iam installing its like my computer really really hates vista dose anyone have any suggestions. do i need to partition my hard drive. i dont think it came with a drivers cd maybe it did would i need that do all hard drives come with one?

What do you mean that it randomly reboots, and only when you are installing? If the drive is blank, than you have no choice but to install the OS. Does your machine reboot at the same point?? Need more info.
 
yeah no drivers are needed until you have installed windows. also, your computer will shut off multiple times on an installation, its completely normal. just leave it be, and if it doesnt finish installing within a few hours then its safe to say somethings wrong.
 
ok so what its doing is i load up vista setup then i install it and while its installing my computer just shuts off and i have to manually turn it back on re format the hard drive so that its clear and i can try to install again. but it only dose this with the vista disk and only when the disc is writing to my hard drive. should i just install the os on a diffrent computer then plug my hard drive back in?
