hey guys, i am having problems with this new vista. I bought a new printer and it wont work with it. So my new printer sits here not being used:mad: Also for some odd reason when i try to burn a CD or DVD, it says its burning and burning burning but never ever burns! i have even used ImgBurn. Also when i try to burn with windows, it asks me to put a name in and it try's to format the disc and it loads and loads and eventually i have to cntrl+alt+del

So should i just go back to XP to fix all these stupid problems?

Well I have a printer that is 7 years old and Vista automatically found the driver and installed it.

Perhaps give us the name of the printer and we could find the vista driver...if its as new as you say then there should be driver support on it.

Burning? Try Nero 8 my friend. Free trial on their main site and I use vista ultimate and it burns PERFECTLY.

Sadly some burning software is just crap and doesn't do the job...I found out the hard way using Final Burn and other such free burners.

ImgBurn sucks, it never worked for me, just use nero. I like XP much better than Vista except for the few problems here and there. If linux had more support that would be all I would use, but go to XP if you want.

Ill have to try downloading nero 8. I will let you know how it works!

The printer is a brother MFC-240C
I already went to the site and downloaded the driver and all that and nothing.
I also tried using the driver disc the printer came with and no go.
I also tried putting it on my lap top and again no go.
I have Windows Vista Home 32 bit.

check my other latest posts also please! have a wireless network question.

Thanks a lot!

What? where does it sound like i don't know what i am doing?
I said when i try to burn something, it shows it burning and burning and never burns really. I also said i cant download the printer driver to use my printer.
I know what i am doing, i am not stupid. Its just this vista crap. I think ill just go back.

I know how to use vista, and i should not have to take my printer back.
I have spoke to a Brother representative twice and its even a odd problem to them. I kept getting switched to different representative's and finally they tell me its a problem with my computers Install Shield.
Can you guys check my other thread? "Can you help me install this"
There is no vista instructions.
