vista q

Its through microsoft i would of thought, because alot of places in the UK have the same offer. And no, im pretty sure you need to purchase on of the ones with the redemption form.

If your XP Pro came with some kind of upgrade coupon, it should tell you whether it's a free or discounted upgrade.

But unless you purchased it recently you'll have to pay full price.

Only new copies of XP come with the upgrade coupons, it's not valid on previous copies of Windows.

hp's site says if you can provide proof of purchase and your windows thingy then you can get it. but its probably home basic or some crap loaded with ads.

I believe you can with companies such as HP, but if you bought a copy of XP before the coupon was given out, you cant upgrade for free.

would it be worth to buy a copy of XP pro for 140 bucks even if i wasn't to use it? that way i could get vista later on. what will be the normal price for vista when it comes out? i know theres different versions too.

If you bought Windows Media Center, you can upgrade to Home Premium for $20. I cant say if it will be worth it for you or not.
