Vista Question

Hi guys,

I have a question regarding Windows Vista Home Premium. One of my friends told me their computer was running slower than usual and would like to re-install Windows. However my friend doesn't want to loose anything that is saved on the hard drive such as Microsoft Office. What would be the best way to do this? Also it may be possible that there is a recovery partition on the hard drive. If using the recovery partition instead of re-installing windows would all the programs still be there provided that the recovery partition was made after such programs were installed?

Or is there another way that can be done that I haven't mentioned?

Thanks

No. If you install a new OS, you will need to reinstall the software. The new OS won't have the registry entries for the software. You can save the code, of course, but it won't run without reinstallation.

Just back everything up good and he should be fine. If he has office he should have the cd for it or the activation code if he bought it.
