Vista reboots when on loading screen???

Hey all, need a little help. When the PC gets to the loading screen, it reboots. After this, it starts fine. I get the usual message saying windows shutdown unexpectedly, then the solution centre says it’s due to hardware. I can restart the PC loads of times without the problem occurring again. But as soon as I switch it off and leave it for a while, turn it back on, it reoccurs. I have run diagnostics on CPU, Motherboard, RAM, HDDs, etc, and everything is fine, the PSU is brand new so I am ruling that out for the mo. I have tried more or less anything so any help would be much appreciated.

Have you sent the error report to microsoft to get which piece of hardware is the issue? Can you give us an exact error message with like numbers or something so we can tell you what its coming from?

I have sent the error report, but there is no indication of which bit of hardware it might be. No error codes either.

when testing your ram remember to test one stick at a time. Try another hard drive with another operating system. If the same happens to that, I would suspect RAM. Brand new PSUs does not meant that it will work. Try another PSU too. I would also check your temperatures and make sure its not overheating. Look for any hardware conflicts or exclamantions in the device manager.

I have just changed my RAM timings from 4-4-4-15 to 5-5-5-15 and it seemed to boot ok. It's off now, so will leave it for a bit then turn it on. Would ram timings have anything to do with it? Cheers.

Yes the timing of the ram could possibly throw an error but vista is still kinda new so most things are still being figured out..

Well, not the RAM timings, just switched it on and the same thing happened. Do any of you guys know of any software that will tell me what the problem is, because as far as I know I have tested everything that may be causing the problem with no errors. Is there any way to test the PSU (it does seem to be working fine though). Cheers.
