Vista: remember network Creds?

I'm unable to get a Vista computer to remember the network credentials to another computer on the same network. It's actually a mapped drive/folder. I found how to get it in W7 but vista is not cooperating.
I would like to not have to type in the name and pwd every time.

The user account needs a password set (ie - a log in password) in order to allow you to connect without having a type a password in each time you attempt to connect. There should be a little tick box at the bottom of the window which asks you for the username and password which reads "Remember my credentials" (or something of the like), can you try checking that tick box?

If you want Windows to automatically log you on without the need for a password but you still want/need a password on the user account, Run to netplwiz, and uncheck the box that reads "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer", then confirm the password and apply and OK.
 
the user account on the host computer (W7) does have a password. the remote computer (Vista) keeps asking for user and password. I am entering the main accound name + Pwd to get in. I have not seen an option to "remember". Unless i've over looked 20 plus time (for sure a possibility), i'm pretty sure i would have checked it. I know how to turn off the user and pwd requirement for logging into the same computer, but i'm not aware if this will also turn it off for networked computers viewing files.

I'll give it a try.
 
Does the network drive require a different username and password to connect? Say the password to connect to the network drive was 123, but the password to log in to the computer was 1234, it's not going to work, or at least log you in automatically, so make sure the password on the user account is the same password which you use to connect to the drive. That's about all I can think of that could be the problem.

There was no "remember me" check box.

The host creds are (USER:abdc/PWD:1234) Those are the windows login and the network login info. i'm using those creds each time access the network share from the remote computer. The remote computer does NOT have the same windows login creds as the host computer.
 
By chance, are you running a temp file cleaner a lot? That could be causing the issue with deleting passwords, forms, etc.
