Vista Restore Error

It has been a couple of months since I last made a system restore point. I tried to do a system restore today but got the error:
vss error, volume shadow copy service error instantating vss server. error 0x80070422.

Any ideas what is my problem? Thank you
 
Hi:
when I attempt to run Restore, a error msg indicates a volume shadow copy service error 0x81000202 and suggests I review the Event Log. Looking at the log, it shows each time I attempted to do a restore the error 0x800700422 is posted.
 
OK, another question. To be sure, what files should I backup before I reload the Vista Op Sys? I have an HP Laptop with a mirror image of the "out of the box" PC. If I reload the virgin copy can/how do I reload the above saved files? (I assume by reloading the pgm used to save the files and restore them....
 
Solved my problem.

Search: services.msc
Select: Volume Shadow Copy
Double Click: Volume Shadow Copy to enable
Test: Restore
