2. I have an A-open MOBO,an MX46-533GN model. will my old driver cd work ? or do i need to download new drivers ?

thanking all

-note that i dont wanna use office 2007 in case you want me too.!!

Unfortunately a good number of the desktop applications you are accustomed to will simply fail to install or run on Vista. The compatibility lists seen at http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_Software_Compatibility_List are literally one big joke!

If you look at Cyberlink's PowerDVD 6 and 7 versions you will see that those are supposed to be compatible? 6.0 will only see a partial flawed installation. But older pc games seem to doing alright for themselves. The gamers can be happy to see most of games released in the last several years like Return to CastleWolfenstein and Soldier of Fortune I+II will go right on and run. For the recent tv tuner card the software is "useless" and needs a newer version. The one software that did make it was Roxio's Easy Media Creator 8.0 used for data dvds here. Is there an Office 2005? That might have a better chance being a newer version. You may have to run it in XP compatibilty mode to see that work out for you.

I guess you are going to need Nero 8 there. Nothing but a Vista tuner driver has been released for the AverMedia 1500 MCE tv tuner card while both the Ultra TV and Cyberlink softwares have been useless and won't install. You would think one company would at least have a patch for one of their newer models knowing that Vista was just about or already out. none found!

ok so i used my A-open cd and installed my sound driver.it works fine.i also installed display but i havent rebooted yet. Anyhows im just checking if no one has been able to sort out office 03 on vista

You were fortunate to get the sound working anyways. Here I went through a major hassle even seeing BSODs just trying to get the EAX effects working with the beta drivers out. That was part of the fun with the sound card here. You will find that there's a large volume of things no one has quite been able to sort out at this time. You are still dealing with the initial release that is only a little over a month old now. Things like drivers, software patches, and a list of other things like some new SP1 will take time. That's why it's only a secondary not primary OS here.
