Vista USB Dead After Sleep

Whenever I resume my media pc from sleep, the USB ports no longer function,
and the only thing I have plugged into it is a USB wireless trackball keyboard.

I have to manually kill the pc with the power button and restart to get the
keyboard working again.

I've tried another USB keyboard, and a couple flash drives, so the issue isn't the components. The ports just don't work.

When it resumes, I hear the tones of a device being disconnected, then connected, then disconnected.

I've scoured the internet, with hundreds of hits to the same issue, but none
of the fixes have worked.

Do you have all the proper drivers installed? I think you should send the part in under warranty (if it's a custom build) and get that fixed.

USB ports on your motherboard, or on the case, or all of them?

What your operating system and motherboard?

Did you download latest updates for motherboard? Perhaps that's what is causing the
issue. Maybe you could uninstall the updates and return to the default plug-and-play
version.

Vista Ultimate x86 - Foxconn M61PMV

The only update I've installed since I built it was the updated chipset drivers.
There are no other updates available according to Fox Live Update
Thanks for the reply. It's very frustrating.
