Vista wont sync my phone

I have a Cingular 8525 and I'm trying to sync it with my computer/outlook. at first it just failed to sync and now it keeps telling me the usb device has malifunctioned. in xp all i had to do was restart the phone when i got that message. is there an update i need to get for the phone in order for it to sync with vista?

you might try doing a search for the newest driver, in addition since your phone is running windows mobile you may need to install active sync, i'm not sure if vista comes with that program already intigrated. I know for sure that windows xp doesn't.

well if vista won't let you install the drivers i'm not sure there's a lot you can do until they release a driver that works with vista

^^ Correct, I'm pretty sure that you just have a problem of incompatible drivers (a lot of XP drivers won't work on Vista...), if there isn't a specific Vista driver released for that particular device, check and see if there will be drivers. A lot of devices that are out already may not ever have drivers released for them for Vista.
