Vista, XP or both

I have just brough my new computer and am going to put it together tomorow but I have just started wondering wich OS I should use. My system is for gaming and I know that XP isnt susch a system hog, bUt Iam basicly building this machine to run Crysis and of coarse I want to run tit at its max potential using DX10. So should I go Vista just so I can use DX10, or is there not that much differance in visual quality between DX9 and 10. Or should I install both xp and vista so that I can have the best of both worlds? Also is it possible to run Vista 64bit and XP 32 bit together?

I just built my system over a week ago and I dual boot between Vista 64 and Windows XP. This is the first time I did a dual boot on a computer system for I read there might be drivers issues with Vista 64, but to my surprise I haven't had a singe driver issue. That's a good thing and I rarely go into Windows XP, but I think I might still keep the OS for I think I'll install some software (Such as Nero) on that OS so I don't clutter Vista 64.

I'd recommend installing both Vista and XP, mainly because some games and other software may not work on Vista despite using the compatibility feature. And certain games already require Vista to run and this may be more common in a few years.

I dont play games to It dont matter to me. But yes indeed you are right, Some work with XP and others ( newer games ) need VISTA.

ok well I think Ill install both. How hard is it to instal duel boot vista and xp? I have 2 hard drives can I install vista on 1 and xp on the other?

I have Vista and XP installed on separate HDD's and it works great. I don't use Vista that often, only when a piece of software requires it. And in order to boot up Vista I just go in to the BIOS and change which HDD to boot from.

I'd say install Vista and XP.
Some of the applications are not Vista compatible, so you can use XP for that.

I have Vista x64 on my main computer and I have a secondary computer with XP Pro. Not sure I want a dual boot setup just yet but many do it and may like it as well.
