Can anyone give an opinion about MS Vista? It seems a tad slow and a bit less user friendly than previous systems. Any ideas how to speed things up or should I just get used to it as is?

Yes, an idea how to speed up.
Upgrade your RAM!
Vista is good, although it requires some expensive system specs...as 100 topics on this forum say.
 
you have 3gb and are finding it slow? wow. your one of the few :P
most people with 2gb or more of ram don't have any slowness issue with vista.

what is the rest of your pc like? and are you using the 64bit or 32bit version of vista?
 
Well considering he asked if he should upgrade to 8gb of ram I'd assume he has 64bit (32bit has 4gb max) - but then again, he could have 32bit and just not know the max?
 
It's probably just me. I'm so used to XP I guess. Sorry if I sound ignorant of this, but I really am.
8 GB is the max but I really don't know if it's 32 or 64. I'll find out tonight.
 
Yeah. I'd like to go back to XP, but evidently everybody here likes Vista. Personally, I think XP was the best thing MS made, but to each his own I guess. Not a lot of help here, just critcism. Thanks for all the good advice.
