i can't change my os to anything else lynx or any thing i have a cd rom that doesn't work and os that have way works

So what is your question? Are you trying to find a way to install Linux without a disc drive? When posting on here it is always important to give us as much detail's as possible especially to let us know what you are asking. If trying to install Linux here is a guide from the Ubuntu community on how to set up Ubuntu from a USB drive which the concept should work with many other Linux operating systems.
