MS has said that it is to be released in January 2007 but it could change.

According to computerhakk, they had a free beta but they dont offer it anymore. I never heard about that, so i cant say for sure.

They are going to realise Vista to the public in much the same way that they did for Office 2007 Public BETA 2, MSDN subscribers first and then the general pubic. Give it a month or two and you will be able to download VISTA using this link.

“Windows Vista Beta 2 is now available to MSDN subscribers. Developers who are not subscribers can obtain Windows Vista Beta 2 in the coming weeks via the Windows Vista Customer Preview Program (CPP). And WinFX Runtime Components Beta 2 is now available to all developers. “

Obviously you havent used it enough. The only similar things are the GUI, everything else is different from a Mac.

He is right. I use Macs at school and have been using Vista constantly for several days and the functionality is extremely similar to normal XP, not Macs. I love Vista and hate Macs (all operating systems from Macs).
 
One of the latest VISTA BETA was released already to the public. Now its not public anymore. VISTA BETA 5308 to be exact. It was released around the beginning of April or end of March, I dont have or remember the exact date.

Now it doesn't work anymore. I wish I should've let ya know but I thought ya would of found out thus, you guys are computer-addicts like me.

Along with that was build 5342, I believe. Then 5384. Not sure if any of those are public.
But One month or so too late...
