hey guys, im buildin my computer when price drops and i want to know if this will work, i have windows vista home premium that you can upgrade and make a whole new file like erase and redownload, will this work on a empty hard drive or is it required to use the system builder one.

i reformated a dell as there where no os and it worked? is it same for custom

Do you mean you have the Vista Home Premium Upgrade version? If thats what you mean, then you need to have an OS loaded or available to install it.

Ya, you have to have XP installed to upgrade it. If you want a fresh install though, what I did was completely reformat my hard drive and did a fresh install of XP, then used the vista upgrade. It's the same thing in my opinion, only cheaper
