Visual Studio Runs slow on Intel Pentium E5200?

I know this processor isn't mean't for applications like visual studio, but still, why does it run so slow?
Just curious.

It is at stock clock with 4GB of DDR2 at I believe 800Mhz
(if it matters)
Should I go into task manager and set a higher priority?
or set an affinity to a core 1 or core 2?

I don't think a particular program is running slower on a specific brand of processor.
