I don't intend to use it to extract, it was just a test. If I had to extract everytime I played a movie I would kill myself. My goal here is just to be able to play movies on my computer in surround sound.

I can't go into something there real fast since that discusses protected materials! I just thought I would remind you about that since it's against forum rules. But I have test the player out with video captures seeing the mpeg II with 5.1 and see it play other formats with no audio problems found at any time.

The one thing to remember about the audio you still are not going to hear true 5.1 when playing anything captured with a capture card, usb capture device, or tv tuner card. For the most part those still remain mono or two channel there. 5.1 depending on the type of output used will make it appear as 5.1 separation however.
