vob help

I have a VOB file of the Simpson TV Show and it is 1.45 GB
I converted it to avi Uncompressed and it came out 4.86 GB

Now I know it is avi Uncompressed but still sould it not be the same size as the sorce VOB file?

I am not ading Data to it
 
A VOB is compressed to MPEG2. If you change to uncompressed, there is no compression so it's way bigger. You still have to use a codec with an avi. Uncompressed does not mean "same as source".

OK thanks for the help but I have just one more thing.

I am going to use Super Video Converter to convert the VOB file to MP4 H264.
Because I see on the web you can use Low Bit Rates with it like 1,000 kbps and still get great video picture.

But the Super Video Converter does not tell me if it will convert the video into Prograsive Scan or keep it Interlaced.

What is it going to do?

I don't use that software. There will be a setting somewhere, either in the output format or sometimes as a filter (for the input). Have you tried looking in the app's Help for "deinterlace"?
 
Try googling for instructions such as here. From the screenshot it's impossible to tell where the deinterlace would be done. There is a button for other Options. Did you check that one? Otherwise try a short conversion and see what you get. It may be done automatically. You can use MediaInfo or GSpot to list the properties of the output file if you don't have a means of doing it.

I didn't got to the author's site because I got a warning from my browser about it. It may be harmless but you can take the risk if you want.
 
You've been on this VOB conversion for ever. Nothing seems to work for you. I've no idea about the prog you mentioned.

FormatFactory works fine but does not deinterlace, in fact I can't even select the "Yes" option. Freemake Video converter seems to deinterlace OK (no setting but apparently does automatically). That requires the installation of Microsoft .Net I think (the install adds it). Both will import VOB or DVD.

What happened to the DVDFab? I think you were downloading the wrong file and someone pointed the correct one?
 
Usually larger Bitrate, larger file size.
Don't know why you get the different video size, as Im using iFunia video converter for my video conversion, and preset the bitrate properly.
