voice problem

Hello every one,
first of all I want to thank you for reading this topic.
I wrote this topic in other site but I did not get any solution.
I have a problem in msn messenger 7.5
when I talk with my friend in msn messenger I can not hear him butr he can hear me,,,I cheked my speaker and volume control,,,every thing is ok.
his mic also is ok and it is not mute.
Imy connection type is dail up and he use DSL connection, but before one week we was hearing each othe with no problem.
what is the problem now please
I formated my pc and still I have this problem.
when my friend talk with other one they can hear each other.
also when we he try to use voice clip icon and send it to me, I can hear his voice but when we try to tralk directlly I can not hear him.
both of us using 7.5 version

I'm not very familiar with MSN, but there might be some general issues that are going on. I apologize, but just to clarify, you said that this was working a week ago and it was working fine with him on DSL and you on dial-up? Because one thought is that your bandwith would not support something like this. Or it is a setting with a new version of MSN if you installed a new version recently.

Sorry for the extra clarification, but it will hopefully get us a resolution.
