voice recording and emailing..how?

Hi - I have windows xp and dial up (sadly can't get broadband here)..I want to record interviews on my laptop (and edit if I can) and email to somebody overseas. How is this possible? what software/hardware would you recommend?
 
I dont know about recording it, but for e-mailed it, just attach the file and send, or compress it as a zip or .rar file so its smaller first.
 
There should be a recorder in the accessories. Record what you want and save it to your desktop. Then move the recording into your email and send it. If its long put it in a zip or .rar file as said above.
