will turning down the voltage on the cpu have any adverse affects on system? will it keep my cpu cooler? sorry may sound like a noob question but i really never messed with voltage and such before...thanks in advance.. im asking because i broke my am2 metal bracket that holds my zalman 9700 in place and im using stock cooler till i find one running 36c-42c idle...and if anyone has one and intersted in selling just post it in here that would be fine..thanks

I think lowering the voltage may lower the temps, but you don't want it too low to the point that it becomes un-stable...

If you overclocked your system... and you raised the voltage, decreasing the voltage will "starve" the CPU and cause crashes and stuff :D

But if you raised it for no reason, down it.

And if you just want to save $$$, leave StepSpeed to do that.
