Voltages are low, not PSU problem.

Hmm...this is a D20 BIOS. All the .ini file does is allow you to adjsut AGP, CPU, Mem, and NB voltage straight from your desktop. While convenient, this is still not the problem i need to fix. No matter what i set my voltages to (in desktop or BIOS) i am still going to have bad rails. What i need to adjust is the motherboard's voltage regulator, so instead of 11.8v i can adjust it to 12.0-12.2v, jsut like a potometer on a PSU only through software. Actually i bet even if my PSU had pots it would still not get through the motherboard's regulator, and i'd still be screwed.

But this is as close as i have come to finiding an answer :D I run a SATA HDD as well so thi BIOS might corrupt it. Don't want to risk that, a few people in that thead had problems like that.

I'm still looking though.

Ok this is the last thing i can think of.... I do not know if you will be interested and its a risk probably... But you could mod the Mobo... to get your higher voltage... http://www.motherboardfaqs.com/abit/abit_mods.htm

Sorry i cannot help any more.. :-( but i can say i now know a lot about your board lol heck i will have to get one now..

OR you could just maybe buy the M board.. :-)

lol, i've done the vold mod to my NB already. I achieved 260FSB b4 my board flat out and screweed the graphics over. But i fixed it eventually.

If someone would write a detailed review on how to mod the Voltage REgulator on the mobo i could have had this problem fixed a while ago. But no one has, and no one probably ever will since these boards are discontinued.

I'm planning on buying an entirely new computer, so no more goes into this one. Hopefully it will last a few more years at defaults and i can continue F@H with it.

Thanks for all your help. It might seem like i've no got an answer, but at least i know what my options are now:)

No problem but can you give me a refund for the headache( Tylenol or Tylanol whatever u use in the states.) tablets lol! Sorry i could not help more you got some solid PSUs.. i would upgrade the mobo to something cool and add to it as and when i can...

im using a DFI board and I have the rails turned up manually on my PSU its a OCZ powerstream 520w. +12v is set to 13, 3.3 is set to 3.8 and +5 is at 5.53.
So in effect you;ve violated ATX specifcations

which leads me to believe my mobo's voltage regulator is corrupt.
heh i concur there

f this board needs more than 550 watts then there is a major problem
wattage doesnt matter if its on the wrong rails ;)

see if the MOBO is the cause of the power drain of maybe the fans are causing a problem???
with the excpeiton of a few fans, the drain from fans is stupidly low
