voltages are scary

the smell still hasn't gone away and the voltage is unbelievably low.

Btw, my specs are:

X800XL PCI-E
1 120mm Fan
Antec Sonata II 450W Smartpower 2.0
1 160GB SataII HD
1 DVD-Writer
1 Floppy
Gigabyte DS3 Motherboard
E6300
2GB OCZ Platinum Rev. 2 PC2-6400 RAM
 
Your +12V is insanely low, too low for a computer to function properly or correctly. Do you have a multimeter to double check the +12V line?
 
got it people, i think the power supply is ...bad


1) checked bios, in the pc health tab, it says ok beside the +12v, it doesnt show me a specific number
2) checked PCWizard it says +12V Voltage - 12.15V

The SpeedFan reading of the +12V is obviously incorrect. The PCWizard reading, and the SpeedFan reading of the other rails are fine.

Those voltage readings aren't indicating a problem with your PSU.
 
PC Wizard seems to be the way to go... SpeedFan hasn't really made much progress since a few years back, so it's probably just incorrect readings.

If you MUST know your voltages, grab a multi-meter and check the molex connections ;)
