W32 B.Parite

Some days ago, My coputer was showing almost 50% ram usage ( I have 640 mb ram), hanging up on me, and showing very little space left in my C drive. It constantly gave me the message that C drive needs more space, and asked me to do a clean up. I did an AVG 7 scan, and it said it found a virus called w32 b.parite. It also said it couldnt repair the infected files ( there were 1800 odd files, mostly registery keys) which I then deleted. Everything was ok, for some days.. and now once again I'm having the same problems...

Any kind of help or suggestions would be appreciated.
 
What antivirus did you try to scan with? I would do a virus scan, and then an adaware and spybot search. It is probably related to ads installed on your computer, unless you download other files from kazaa/warez site...

I scanned it with avg 7 (trial version). I have also done ad aware and microsoft anti spyware scans. No use of it. AVG isentifies the w32 parite, then says cannot heal, so I have to delete it. On repeating the AVG test after some time, I find the same files infected with W32 Parite again.

I'll try regscrub now..
 
RegscrubXP will have NO effect on a virus. You need to boot to safemode (F8 key while booting up) and scan with your AVG, let it do what it can. then reboot normal and run the steps in the sticky . If after that, you still have problems, post a HijackThis log (see this sticky for that as well), and post it in this forum.
