Wait?

Cheapest conroe is $200, and I am building this a system for my brother and he does not require conroe. I am trying to keep it cheaper and the pd805 is great for him, and I could always overclock it for him. :)
 
Downloading, music, surfing the net, etc... Average stuff. No gaming. Dual core will be nice for multi-tasking.
 
Ha ha My birthday was the 20th of July and I just fogot to change it. O well doesn't hurt to have it up a few more days. :) Thanks too.

Ahh, but you can get an athlon 64 3500+ for about that price, such an amazing deal. And for what he is going to be doing he won't need a dual core, just get a faster single core cpu like the 3500+.

For what he will be doing a dual core is very nice. If he is running limewire, internet, and music at the same time. Dual core will be a nice improvement. Including more programs will be written to utilize dual core more effieciently, and it is more "future proof"

A fast single core would be plenty, none of those programs are super cpu intensive. And why do people use limewire you have no clue how bad that is for your computer, you might as well just purposely download and install viruses.

im guessing the lowest grade conroe will behave the same way as the pentium D 805, only with much better end results. im going to wait to see which cpu is the best deal though.
