Wake-on-lan, standby problem

I have a music server running XP pro and this is configured to come out of standby when it receives a magic packet from the music controller (Squeezebox 3). This keeps the computer awake while playing music but if it is paused the server goes back to sleep after just 2 minutes. I want to try and configure this to a longer time before the computer goes back to sleep. Windows power management settings (which I have set to 15 min before going to standby) have no effect on the time to standby when the server is woken-on-lan. So the computer being woken by a magic packet seems to start a different clock to a key press.

I found article below which has in it: “This behavior occurs because Wake-on-LAN is typically configured to return your computer to standby or hibernation after two minutes of inactivity”.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810719/en-us

So my question is; does anyone know if there is a way to reconfigure this time period?

Thanks

Did you check in your bios? You didn't mention what hardware your running, but most boards that have WOL have at least minimal settings there.

Thanks, but nothing doing in bios, I'm afraid.

I think I may have the probelm sorted as I've found a small utility which can run scripts etc. on resume from standy and also reset the suspend timer. I'm going to have a play with this tonight.
