The memory card keeps blowing out? what do you mean? Smoke from the card, then noe more pictures? Or it is ejected from the port, and flies across the room?

i thought this was a computer forum not an outlet for crap, would be stand up comics, i quite obviosly mean that the card in the camera no longer works ie it shows up as offline in premiere, i have taken the camera back to cannon 4 times and in each instance they have kindly re- placed the card, i got the shop to re-place the firewire card as this, although new,i thought to be the only remaining possible problem area, it worked the first time ,but now ive come back to load more footage and it has rendered the card non-working once again,(or whatever other description you comedians prefer to use) if there is anyone who has experienced the same problem i would appreciate hearing from you, this is the best way in which i can describe my predicament, any sensible answers gratefully accepted......

if you have a card reader you could try reformatting the card.
also, are you having any stability problems with your system? this might be corrupting your card.

i think your outburst at trizoy was a little over the top, he was only trying to get more information on the topic. remember that we are only here to try and help, if someone uses a colourful discription for something it doesn't mean that they are trying to belittle you.
we are all pretty much friendly here, outbursts like that tend to discourage people from being nice :)

point taken, but as you can imagine im not having a great time with this problem and trizoys answer seemed somewhat flipant to me as its my first attempt at communication on this site why dont we just forget it and start again... thanks hairylee for your input

no worries :)

if you are still having problems try to see if you can get the camera replaced or at least looked at by the manufacturer cos it really shouldn't keep causing problems with the cards. one maybe, but more than one sounds just wrong

I suspect it is the fault of your camara as well, start with the easy steps first and see if they will replace the camara, then if it still does it you can point your finger at the computer! Processes of elimination!

look for a program called mem test, that will test your memory/memory controller.
that will usually point to problems with your system.
