Hi,
I had two computers. One was for my grandson with 100x17 cpu and the other which is mine operating with a 100x8 cpu. His had a 10GB hard drive mine had a 40GB HD. I figured I would just switch hard drives and everything would be cool. And is was... but. Now the built in sound does not work on either. I think it is because the motherboards had their own driver CDs. I installed PCI sound cards on both of them but still no sound. So now I think that if I can totally clear or format the hard drives and then boot and install everything on the correct motherboard CDs with the correct CDs they both should work. Whether I am right or not does not matter. What matters is the sound. The grandson really likes to hear putt-putt to talk. I kind of like it, too. Please help if you can. Steve

the old sound cards.

The motherboards had and have built in sound and they worked. The cards I added were an attemp to solve the problem. I think the cards would work if I still had the drivers to intall them. Windows says it can not locate a driver on my system. Steve

you will have to find out what mother boards they are and download the built in sound drivers and the same for the sound cards
