want to get a laptop instead of a desktop!!! for college

Hey y'all

i'm 17 years old and going to do a accounting major in university/college and want to get a laptop for college/univer but my mom wont let me buy one cause they are "expensive"!.. anyway i need some backup reasons of why i should get a laptop in the future during college/univer...

There isnt really much use for a laptop (as an accounting major) .. hell I'm in Soft.Eng and I dont have a real reason to get a laptop. There are tons of reasons not to get a laptop though:
- Price/Performance
- Stealability
- Non-upgradeability
All for the sake of portability (even though its probably more efficient to pay attn and take pen-notes in class) ... anyways... just my thoughts

BUt seriously though the only things you can effectively argue are:
- Later, when you're on coop (if you take that route) then you wont have to lug a big desktop around etc
- Again, later, when you're in the field you can operate with mobility

But seriously, for 1st/2nd year you dont really need a laptop (for what? to take notes? lol) ... but if they say "no" you can always get one with your own money
