Want to make my pc better for games. Help plz

Hello all. I am a person who does alot of gaming. I find that I am not able to get the most out of more recent games now. I want to have top preformance while playing my games at peak quality. But I don't know what precisly to upgrade in order to do this. I know I can add a second video card or get more RAM. But I don't know what exactly to do, as in, is there some things I can do with my MB to max out prefromance? I heard of over-clocking, but I am not sure how to do it. I don't have alot of cash, so a new processor or MB are pretty well out of the picture unless I need them. Thank you
 
well you could always save for a new graphics card like an 8800gt or an 8800gts, your 2gb of ram should be fine and your processor is fine and if you want to overclock here is the best aid Overclocking 101
 
Should I really replace my video card, or will those two cards work together with the SLI? Also, will the card you suggest be good for a while, or is it soon out-dated already? I know how fast computer parts change, but I do want to keep slightly ahead, given the money spent for it. Note: The vid card I have now is SLI, BUT it does not have an SLI adapter hook-up on top of it. Thank you
 
How can a vid card be sli but, not have an sli adapter? Anyways 1 single 8800gt or gts would blow 2 8600gt's out of the water. A single better card is always better then 2 lower end cards.
