want to pin windows update

why would you want to do that? It should be automatic. If it isn't, go and turn it on in the control panel. Then you won't need it in your start menu. If it took you to the windows update website, there is another link to that in internet explorer (Tools>Windows Update)
 
Well, your Recycle Bin might have them. Try a Restore if they are in there.

You can always jsut remke them...

I hate having automatic updates on. I prefer to update when i want to.
