Hey Everyone, i am getting ready to build a desktop computer and i need everything from the ground up. Keyboard, mouse, flat screen, case, power supply, motherboard, memory, cpu, heatsink, fan, dvd writer, speakers, hard drive, and an OS.

What I looking to use the computer for, is not really much, I Want to use it to browse online, listen to music, play some games, upload photos, but nothing crazy, except the price range is low......$350.00

Hard Drive Between 100-160gb
Motherboard AMD-INTEL (doesn't mater to me)
Dual Core Cpu
Memory 1-2g
flat screen 15-19in

So I was hoping if you would help me with this build!

you might wanna consider increasing your budget if you want all that stuff for $350.

A flatscreen will usually cost about $300 - 350.

I am by no means as good as a lot of these guys at configuring setups but here's the cheapest i could do in about 5 mins. This is the basics but you'll still need, keyboard, mouse, OS (xp or Ubuntu), speakers, and other misc stuff. But honestly with that price range count out games other than on 2flashgames.com.

Maby Hes just Practising building a computer? But still even if you are. May be easier just to wait that extra month to save a hundred so you have $450

Haha i did make the cheapest i could, just becaue he also needed a monitor and other peripherals. But yes i did make one cheap system. (less than $200...)

That system won't even last a month...

I used to use a system with 1gb memory,a 2ghz pentium 4, a nvidia geforce4 440mx (A bit more powerful than a geforce2) and a 40gb hard drive.

It lasted me till...3 months ago when I built the one in my sig? Wasn't amazing, but unless youre doing a lot of gaming, you wouldn't notice.

The thing i hate about this forum is people dont realize that some people DONT GAME and use their computer for JUST internet, email, and music. Honestly a simple computer like the one i put together would work and for some people would be completely fine. Maybe the PSU would go but other than that it'd be solid.

Do you really think a motherboard, CPU, OD, HDD, or anything would REALLY die in a month? The PSU? Now we're talking. It's outta stock, and I have one :)

I have a $265 build including shipping from Newegg. Sits right next to me. It's a great machine! Perfect for light gaming and my mom's business. Celeron OC'd to around 2.1GHz, Foxconn motherboard, DDR2-667 2GB Corsair, 80GB Excelstor, X1550 GDDR2 128MB...

It's amazing how cheap you can go :P

I didn't meen it like im mad, i just think too many people get caught up in what they do and forget sometimes that a cheap build can work for people you know? I meen i think decently cheap build for daily use is fine.

It is pretty crazy how cheap systems can get. I think most things like monitor, keyboard, mouse, can be transferred its just the computer that needs upgrading more often. And a decent $300 pc every year or two isn't bad for me as a soon to be college kid. Simply build a budget pc that works for a year to two and then build a new one, allows someone to have current stuff just not the top of the line, also allows builds constantly. sounds fun.
